Hello. “For I know the plans...”

So how did Praise and Bloom come about. Well, back in the autumn of 2018 I decided to get a hobby. A hobby that wasn’t about shopping online, smashing Pinterest for hours, or looking at how I could redecorate our little house and mither poor Robbie. When my babies are asleep I tried to fit in as much me time as possible in the space of 2 hours without passing out on the sofa! Lol My babies were not sleeping well at this time in my life but I finally got to the point where i was like I need to do something productive. I need to get a hobby. I believe God gives grace to new parents and young families, because it’s so hard. Because the days roll in to one and you can’t remember the last time you showered! Lol 😂

So, I decided to have a go at foil laminating. I got a really cheap pen from amazon, downloaded Procreate on the iPad and practiced calligraphy. Then using a really cheap laminator and some foil from eBay I had a go. Now I struggle desperately with instructions, like Betty Crocker brownies are enough! So it did not bode well for me or the laminator. In fact I’m ashamed to say Robbie came in to find me crying and declaring “Im never going to have another hobby again!” the said calligraphy / eaten foil were in fact Christmas gifts for my family.

Fast forward to 4th November 2018 in the morning, lying in bed waiting for the children to wake up. And i had this thought of making Christian prints. Prints that would encourage people in their homes. The people who have little time - but enough time to look at their fridge,  bathroom mirror, photo frame etc and be inspired and encouraged for their day ahead. I wanted to use bible quotes and scripture to remind people of Gods great plan for your life.  Because there are days when we feel invisible.

That tiny spark nearly a year ago led to the launch of praise and bloom. God has been so faithful in building my creativity up, which has been dormant since a child.  I decided on the name praise and bloom because I believe when you praise God you start to bloom.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
